Just wanted to share some pics from Sun. We did a poker run for Hope Family Services. They had over 100 bikes show up later. I was able to get off a few pics before evryone got there. We were set up next to Born to Ride magazine and TV show...cool! We cooked 35 butts.
Oh yea we also did a benifit cook off for the DAV. It was for the Haley House in Tampa and they had the soldiers who were rehabing's families come down. We got 1st place for pulled pork, 1st place for sides, and 2nd place over all.

I love pictures like these....really shows what a big smoker will handle.
Keep CLOSE eye on that fridge....home refridgerators are not designed to handle foods in mass like that. I personally burned one up that was failry new doing just as you are.
Was these events a donation on your part or did you actually get paid for doing them?? |

Awesome Butch!
Please keep me posted for the DAV event next year- that sounds like a lot of fun!
Before I saw Marv's comment, I was thinking the same thing. The easiest and safest way to keep a Shizzle load of meat cold is to pack them in ice in large coolers. I cut open the cryovac, and fill up with marinade, then load the ice in. All good!
The coolers then get cleaned and bleached, and are ready for the next time. _________________ BBQMAN

| Looks Great! I wondered what my Lang would look like full. Where did you get those nice bone in butts? I'm having a hard time finding them. I have been going to COSTCO but they are boneless. According to my Calculator you should have had enough cooked meat for 420 sammys. Did you have any left over at the end? I was thinking of doing a cook for a group of riders in my town but never have tried something that big. |
