Man, i'm torn between doing the neighborhood thing or heading out to the lake with the family. If I stay home, I think it will be some chicken & ribs and maybe some ABT's.

ABT's for the 1st time, going to use Chorizo sausage, a Butt and corn on the Cob. Along with the grilled hamburgers and such.

Happy 4th.

Lots of good tips around here for brisket, Bryce. Best thing I can recommend is keep your heat low - about 225 - 250, and cook to 190-195 internal and you can't go wrong.

Gonna be doing a 16 lb packer brisket and 5 lbs of wings, smoked then deep-fried. Servin' 'em up with some tater salad, baked beans, & nanner puddin'.

12 chicken breasts, 4 butts a butting, 3 racks of spares, 2 large fatties and a ham (with a pear tree glaze)... and if anyone but the family turns up some burgers and hot dawgs on the grill.

The opener reminded me of the 12 days of Christmas, so I added the pear tree glaze to round the refrain! (Don't ask me what a pear tree glaze is...I haven't got a clue, it just sounded right)!

The butts will be pulled, the spares will be sliced down to the bones, the fatties consumed by the kids in buns with a drizzle of sauce on top, (why the kids will have a drizzle of sauce on top I don't know...but they seam to like it that way Laughing), and the ham is finishing in the smoke with a pear and honey injection and glaze, to be eaten later.

I am giving one of the butts to a friend and his family, they have had some hard luck this last year, with one of their girls suffering leukemia and the medical bills have eaten their finances to the core. They will be getting the whole of an 8 lb butt pulled and delivered with 1/2 a gallon of sauce, for 3 PM, because I know where they are going to be and I can drop it off in a cooler and get the cooler back later in the week.

Really nice gesture Chris, I'm sure the family will love the Q! Very Happy

I have a party for 126 tomorrow. They want to eat at 2:30 which is cool. Gives me time to get home, clean up, and enjoy the evening!

21 slabs of spares, 100 chicken quarters, slaw, beans, and grilled flatbread w/garlic herbed olive oil.

Some Sushi for the chef when he gets home! Wink Laughing

Have a great 4th everyone! Very Happy

Cooking for my family.

A 9lb brisket, baked beans, jalapeņo peppers, and maybe some cheese. The peppers are from our garden.

Yeah...Thanks. Brisket is king in Texas. After eating a few times lately its pushing into second behind ribs for me! Thinking of doing a whole brisket, 8 lb butt, turkey breast, and ABT's to boot. Last time I did a turkey breast the meat was delicious but the skin was chewy and not crispy. Never had a problem with it before...hmmm. Hope it was a fluke. Good luck everyone...and I second the blessing of our troops. Give 'em Hell!
