Just ate at the SL outside of Austin......WOW!!!!! i didn't think briskit could be so good!! previously i have only had the leaner cut. But when they brought out a plate of the fattier cuts, WOW!!!! ribs were great, and the sausage was awesome!!! i normally don't eat the fatties, but it was really good! potato salad was yummy, beans were so-so, and the cole slaw was not what i usually like. i'm partial to carolina style slaw. overall, the smoked food is my standard by which i will compare all other smoked foods to.
picked up some rub and sauce for the butts i will be smoking this weekend.
can't wait to get back......hope you all find your way to driftwood!

| I have to agree! Along with the food, the family style atmosphere adds to the joy of eating. |

| You guys are right on the money with what yall are saying. You are so right on the money about how much better the fatty brisket is. I hate when people act like its no good because there is fat on it. The Saltlick is such a great BBQ experince. Yea there are might be a place here or there that might have better ribs or better sausage. But when you put it all together the whole experince is second to none. The BBQ here is worth the trip! |
