| Anyone try this stuff yet? Advertised as 100% all natural hardwood, but in a briquette form. Pretty inexpensive, but is it any good? |

I have been VERY pleased with it... Good heat like a lump, but much less ash than a Kingsford or RO briquette... Don't expect a lot of smoke "flavor" from the product, though... You will want to add some pecan/oak/hickory/whatever you like to smoke with for certain... But a real solid product IMHO... _________________ Dr. Mike

| Well, that's pretty encouraging - especially at the price. The choices around here are slim as I just hate Cowboy. You gotta love their sales/marketing folks though since they're everywhere. |

I really love it. Since KF went downhill, I've been looking for a replacement, and I found it. _________________ If it ain't right, don't do it....If it ain't true, don't say it....If it ain't yours, don't take it. |

| I finally tried some and I'm also a convert now. As others mentioned the heat is very good, less ash than Kingsford and has a very good aroma IMO. |

| +1 for Rancher. My cousin told me about some new charcaol he found at Home Depot that was ringing up 2.99 a bag. I had him get me 4 bags and wish I would have gotten more. Much better than kingsford in my opinion. |

i haven't noticed a bid reduction in ash compared to kingsford. but i what i do like is being able to add it right on top of the coal i have going. i can't do that with KF because of the horrid smell that comes from it diring the initial burn. it saves me a lot of work not having to pre-burn my charcoal in a chimney.
ultimatley though i prefer lump. but due to cost and the fact that lump is not as readily available, the rancher it is a great substitute. |

| I used it for the first time today and it burned longer and hotter than kingsford. I also noticed that there what seemed to be less ash |

| I just bought some Ranchers Charcoal at lunch. It took me forever to find it becuase it wasn't in the BBQ section. I can't wait to try it out tonight. I'll post my review with pics tomorrow. |
