We have been discussing amongst ourselves in my part of Iowa trying to organize and start a sanctioned BBQ competition for our area and beyond. The area is ripe and locations and tie ins as far as support activities are in place. The varrieties of the many "types" of BBQ converge in this area. We are not too far removed from the St. Louis and Kansas City areas, Dallas and most of Texas is a straight shot down I-35 and Memphis, Kentucky, and the Carolinas are not too far off. It would be a great area a "melting pot" or pit to have all the flavours and colours of BBQ to come together.
Our only problem...who do we contact and what do we do to get the ball rolling??? Let me know how to get this bus in gear...Thanks in advance!!! _________________ You do realize that CHEF is a 4-letter word? |

I think a real good place to start would be to contact the Iowa BBQ Society.

I would start here. Most contests are ran under KCBS rules. Give them a toll free call.
