I've used the Jack Daniels brand of wood chips, I believe that the wood chips come from the old barrels, but I'm not 100% sure now. Thats some good stuff, tastes great when used with some steaks. _________________ Slow and low is the way to go......

They are EXCELLENT when used to make some bourbon steaks! Rub a little bit of good bourbon on your steaks first and let them sit 20 minutes or so.
The Jack Daniels wood chips have the same flavor; They are made from the old JD barrels, which can only be used once.

OOOps...
I have not SMOKED with them yet, just grilled. I would like to hear how the food turned out if you smoke with them!

| Been many moons since I did so, but memory says the JD chips were great for smoking (just get a lot of them). The Tabasco chips are really, really bad. |
