I can't get my friend on his phone - feel like coming over to my area and meeting Joe and making sure h doesn't shoot me or anything - PM if interested - seriously. I have food.
Right now it's going to be me and the wife - I plan on having her standby with phone in hand to call the police - I'm calm - but honestly, I don't trust Joe enough to think he might not try something. I'm no particularly scare of him - just you never know what people are capable of and it will probably be after midnight when not people are out to keep the riff raff down.

#1- I would if I could. I'm sorry but I'm actually babysitting 3 kids (1 is my niece) by myself. My wifes best friend had a baby last night and she's up at St. Johns.
#2- I know I might sound rough but the hell with him. Look it over. He's the a$$hole, not you. You paid. Make sure it's right. You've been awesome.
#3- I don't know Joe and I'm sure you won't have any issues. However, you can never be too prepared. If you are concerned, take appropriate measures, regardless if they seem stupid.
#4- For a grown man to call you and others an asshole, cuss you out, and lie to you any time he can, I wouldn't trust him either. Not so much of a gun but more of a sucker punch, etc...
My comments aren't to worry you or get you scared. Simply, always pay attention. If you are more than worried, PM me and we'll talk.
But, to clarify, he's harmless. |

Ten minutes Ass, I would look that smoker over with a fine tooth comb. He has no place to go but to sleep.
It's your money don't piss it away just because he had to deliver it.
I really want you to get a good deal and be happy with your smoker, don't take me wrong just because I do not like him or his business practices. I live within 60 miles of his shop and would not even think of doing business with him.
His 120 days sucks, I will get what I want in 3 to 4 weeks it might cost me a little bit more, but at least they will be there when I need them.
Enjoy your smoker and don't look back it is not worth it.

in reality Joe will probably seem completely different in person- no worries -when I met him I'd been pissed for 4 1/2 extra weeks and he was aware...it was good then dealing w/ him in person as I think you'll feel soon too.....it doesn't forgive all but will get the deal done

I do not think think this is just a cake walk I would be so pissed at him. Any contractor, builder or whatever that ever called me an assh!!e then wanted me to wait until he could deliver at his convience would find out what it is to be ignored.
He can drive to the end of the earth and guess what, no money and take it back I do not want it. It would be worth it just to see the expression on his face when I said TAKE IT WITH YOU I DO NOT WANT IT NOW.
Welcome to the real world and if you think different I have a long list of contractors that are willing to take your deposits and then get to you when they can.

I'm with you. It's worth eating the $250 to give him some of his own medicine. Might even be more fun to not even answer. Both would be fun  I wouldn't feel bad at all either.
