I know everyone only has so much to spend on a pit but to even consider his smokers at this point boggles my mind. I know there are some people who are happy with theirs but as I said, it looks like it's getting progressively worse! At this point, I can't think of ONE reason to order a pit from him, even if I did have the time to wait.
I have to admit, this has been a wild ride and like vexter has stated numerous times, hey if this didn't happen, he wouldn't have met all these people so I guess it all worked out.
I'll be up till 12, 1, 2...I don't know BUT you better have pics up TONIGHT assuming it gets there which I'm assuming it will. Even if it's dark, blah, blah, blah.
We want pics!
What the hell are you doing if you don't drink?
Don't forget everyone, football is on! We have 2 things to watch |
I PROMISE pics if it arrives, even if I gotta use a flashlight LOL
I'm watching Black Snake Moan while I wait
hang in there guys - I'll update as soon as I know something - anything! |

Good deal! Does your buddy at least drink?
I know all will go well with you and him when he gets there and it will seem like water under the bridge but as others said, DO inspect the pit even if you're not comfortable telling him if something isn't right. |

Glad that he is on the way, Hope that everything is o.k. with the smoker.
Tomorrow morning you will wake up and say what a deal, this was not so bad after all. Then read all your posts and reflect at what the pain you was having just getting the smoker delivered.
Just remember: Joe is a nice guy even if he did call me an A!! Hole. |

Got my fingers crossed for you Vex.
I had to call two of my DPP customers today to tell them that instead of delivering this weekend, it will be next Friday. That is the 2nd and 3rd time since I started selling DPPs (little over 2 years) that we have missed the stated delivery date. Not too bad.
And for the record one customer said I never promised this weekend, I said the weekend of the Bricktown contest and since it was canceled, I did not actually miss my date. Heck of a nice guy, this will be his third DPP cooker.
I tip my hat to Joe, he must have some monster CAJONES. If I missed a single delivery date without notifing you ahead of time, I would probably deliver the pit at night, ring the bell and run. You would get the pit for the deposit price because I would be too embarased to ask you for the rest of the money. How he can do it after so many missed dates I will never know. _________________ OkieJay

If he gets there after midnight, it'll be Friday. I'd insist on the refund check. _________________ Mike

That is a good decision, take pics of the factory, and let us know what specs you decided on.
Please start your own thread, this one needs to die... _________________ Klose 72" Mobile

I'm expecting a call any minute - I've asked him to call me when he's about 1.5 hours out - which should be soon.
allsmokenofire - yeah, it should be after midnight - I should insist. You know the thing is, I'm not a mean spirited person - I'd have a hard time doing anything other than just handing Joe his cash.
sj022698 -
I can't get my friend on his phone - feel like coming over to my area and meeting Joe and making sure h doesn't shoot me or anything - PM if interested - seriously. I have food.
Right now it's going to be me and the wife - I plan on having her standby with phone in hand to call the police - I'm calm - but honestly, I don't trust Joe enough to think he might not try something. I'm no particularly scare of him - just you never know what people are capable of and it will probably be after midnight when not people are out to keep the riff raff down.
OkieJay - "Got my fingers crossed for you Vex. "- thanks man - appreciate it - guess we'll see how well this all goes shortly.
Well - if it does end for me tonight - we still got Ray to go and then if that goes well - we're done for now. But that's not including the new thread on the smoker if we get delivery - right? |

Thanks for the idea to look at Horizon Smokers, The are just great on the phone and looking forward to talking to them Monday.
I will start a new thread and I bet it will not be as long as this one.

Why would you be nervous about Joe delivering your smoker? He just wants his money and shake your hand with no hard feelings. Remember he is a nice guy. And over worked. _________________ Team Enoserv |

The old man had other obligations and couldn't make it. Unfortunate too.
Got your message earlier - you can see where we're at. Hang right with me |

We'll see - our phone conversations at this point are terse at best - I'm pretty sure the exchange shouldn't last more than 10 minutes. Maybe less. |
