Ok, I finally bought the Chargriller firebox which I'm going to attach to my 55 gallon barrel. The question is how much of these instructions do I really need, seeing that I am attaching it to a barrel? And do I REALLY need to use those spacing tubes? Any help would be great.
I know there were a few folks that have done this but I couldn't remember who. |

| You probobly don't need the instructions since you are making a custom smoker; but as far as I can tell.... the spacing tubes are just to make the box a little more rigid. Chargriller sells a flat shelf that sits on top of the firebox to heat up pans (beans etc...) and if you did that I would reccomend using the spacers, but it is probobly not needed if you are just using it as a firebox. |

The spacers are intended to add support to the SFB as it attached to the legs which are not flush to the "barrel" top on the chargriller. Depending on how and where you are attaching the SFB to your drum you may or may not want the spacers or some other fabricated metal attachment. _________________ Q 'n Brews
