Hi everyone.

Not going to mention names, but if a certain other team that post on this board will be attending.... you will need these items:

rain coats
waders
life jackets
small boat or arc (for smoker)

Hope you do well, but above all "Have fun"!

Now I'm SURE you're not refering to The Smokedelics!! Laughing

Oh yeah.....you left out scuba gear or a snorkel.

...and for the record, we won't be anywhere near Maryland in September

I did my first comp and went by myself. Use the checklist Mike gave you. You will need everything on it!!! I worked my TAIL off all night and all the next day by myself. TAKE A TEAM if you can.
I took a 1st Place in Chicken and a 1st Place in Brisket. I was amazed because I don't even like to smoke those meats. I always have the best Butts and Ribs and did not even place in them. Go figure. I had a GREAT time and learned a lot from others. Go and have fun!!!!!
Smoke On!!!!!

Ed, congrats on the 2 firsts, thats great for anybody, let alone a first timer cooking on his own. Hope you enjoyed yourself enough to do it again. Its a lot easier(and more fun, in my opinion) to have a team to help. I know I could not do one on my own, gotta have all the other Smokedelics there to pitch in!!

Congrats, Buddy!

Don't worry about the butts and ribs. I've been told over and over that if the judges like to eat at Damon's, a real BBQ'er is screwed. Very Happy
