I am new to this and have been buying my wood chips from retail stores. The only problem is there really isn't a great variety and I really would like to try something other than hickory and mesquite. Is there anywhere that someone else has found to purchase a better variety?
Thanks!!! |

There are a lot of places online to buy pretty much anything you want.
You can check in the phone book for Firewood suppliers, or tree trimmers and see if they have what you want.....depending if it grows in your area.
Folks who live out west can tell you better what kind of places carry wood that we dont have. _________________ Electricity can be dangerous. My nephew tried to stick a penny into a plug. | Thanks. I will look into those ideas. I am kind of tired of buying those little bags but I did find some maple the other day and I am excited to give it a try. |

If you are only using them for flavor you can also use the smoke pellets, that are available from various companies, and you can get at either hardware stores or online. _________________ Here's a change Robert.

| The wood is only for flavor. I use Royal Oak charcoal for heat. I have only found the Jack Daniels pellets around here but some places are starting to carry more of the wood chips. I found a couple of web sites and plan to place some orders. |

Try this place. They have Pecan, Apple, Cherry and more at very reasonable prices.

| thanks for the info. I have actually stocked up on the Royal Oak from our Walmart. Next time my family is up that way, I will be stopping in to one or both of these places. My family is moving up to the Denver area soon and I am excited to start having more options of places to get supplies. |

| Thanks for the tip. Went to Rocky Mountain Firewood last week and hit the mother-lode! Great woods at fair prices. Will do me until I go back to Missouri in June and fill the SUV. |
