Hi all,
I created all natural bbq starters because I got tired of the soot and nasty chemicals contained in commercial starters, fluids, and newspaper (which has bleach, petroleum based inks, etc...)
you can get the starters at http://www.naturalflare.com
I hope you like them. I think they are the best way to get a big pile of natural hardwood charcoal started with just one match.
thanks,
Rusty |

Hi Rusty welcome to the forum!
Perhaps you would like to contact Garry about advertising your natural product?
You may put a link in your signature, but multiple posts on the same constant topic, are very likely to be considered spamming.
Please enjoy your time on the smoke ring, and allow others to do the same. _________________ Here's a change Robert.

Those seem kind of pricey. I can get 24 parafin starters from webber for about a buck. _________________

Yes mds2 they are a little more, but isn't it worth that extra to help make it a natural product?
They may even be Kosher, though not yet inspected by the Rabbi, (or they may have been passed over!), so they can't actually say anything yet. _________________ Here's a change Robert.

Last i checked parafin was a natural product too.
Im not trying to bash the product at hand, I've never used them, I just know what I can get right now.
But seriously it is a lot more fun to use a weed burner and 15 pounds of propane to light ten pounds of charcoal. _________________

Hi all,
Thanks for the welcome and questions/comments.
The starters are 100% all natural, plant based, and earth friendly.
As for Paraffin - Paraffin is derived from crude oil (the same stuff that is refined into gasoline). It is definitely NOT natural, and has been shown to product the same chemicals as the tailpipe of your car (including benzene).
Regarding price - you can definitely find a cheaper way to start a fire... but it could be argued that you can also find cheaper charcoal, cheaper meat, vegetables, etc... For me, the result (clean burning, no stinky smoke, or soot containing nasty chemicals left on my grill or food)is worth it! They may not be as dramatic as a weed burner and propane , but they do an impressive job lighting a large pile of charcoal and leaving no trace.
SoEzzy - thanks for your suggestion... I may do that. As for spamming, I have no intention to post a bunch of unsolicited "buy from me" ads.
Quite frankly, I am really passionate about natural starters. Whether you buy natural starters from me or not, I enjoy the discussion and I love to share what I have learned and experienced about petroleum, paraffin, and natural alternatives.
Thanks again,
Rusty |

| you should just ask them to start a natural fire starter section and then you could talk about your company and all your latest ad materials all you wanted... |

I use a chimmney and a propane burner- all natural, fast, and cheap too!
I generally use straight logs when smoking, and a log lighter to get-r-going. All natural, all wood good! _________________ BBQMAN

Sure thing Dawg!
Major byproduct from burning LP is a little carbon and some water vapor. Very clean and green friendly _________________ BBQMAN
