For the most part I think folks were talking about using the wood stove as the firebox of a smoker, not as the whole smoker.
If this is following on from the thread where someone wants to have a fire box in a garage, and have a smoker chamber outside so they could heat the garage space and smoke the food at the same time.
Most wood stoves that Harry was talking about $500 or so, are not big enough to take out room for meat etc. But as the fire box they would provide heat / smoke through the chimney, as well as heat into the room the box is stood in.
Just my take on what was being talked about. _________________ Here's a change Robert.

| LOL...I saw that thread. I want to use mine as a firebox as well...I'm just not going to heat my garage with it. I guess I'm looking for something less complicated. I saw the cool one that was on the trailer...the wife might not care for that parked in the backyard. |
