The Outdoor Kitchen Store in Tampa on W. Kennedy has Chigger Creek chips and chunks in various flavors. No idea about big chunks or logs. Good luck!

Just to preface it I am cooking on an ECB so no jumbo chunks will be needed, just chunks about the size of a fist. Are the prices good there?

Do you have an Acadamy sports store there? I found Pecan chunks at my local store.

Get some smaller logs of oak from any tree cutter or the brush site, and cut rounds with a mitre saw.
Lot's cheaper than buying bags at HD!
The hickory you are referring to as being plentiful must be of the bag variety- it doesnt grow much south of the gainesville area. _________________ BBQMAN

There is a guy with a woodyard on Benjamin just south of Waters (near the vet and Jazzy's BBQ). You can get a #60 bag of wood pecan, blackjack, and several others for $10. He sells to people like bonefish grill and the like. check it out.

Any community brush site (we have a dozen here in St.Pete, check your phone book) will have Sh!tloads of oak for the taking. Get smaller pieces, and use a circular saw since you don't have the mitre!
Also, be careful that you actually get oak, citrus, or some other safe hard wood. Larger specimens of Oleander look suspiciously a lot like oak, and will kill you if you cook with it- no kidding.
Option B: Make friends with a local tree trimmer, and get them to save you some smaller pieces. Throw in a couple of beers and a rack of ribs and everyone is happy! _________________ BBQMAN
