I got some well seasoned hickory and some of it has what appears to be white almost like a hard mushroom attached to the bark. What is it and should I strip it b-4 cooking with it? _________________ DIAMOND D'Z BBQ Catering & Entertainment Svcs

| D'z if it is still damp feeling it is probably moss or mold from being wet that has grown on the bark or dried on I would just take it off before I used the wood. Like mold some people are allergic reaction when you burn it it will realease the spores. So don't take the chance just strip the bark off that area. |
