Hey guy's,

Just wanted to reach out and say thanks to those of you who took time to answer some questions for me on an earlier posting.

I asked for help reguarding portions and how much to serve for a little league bbq on opening day. I served pit beef, pulled pork, porkette, and sausage sandwiches for 4.00 a piece. Also sold waters and gatorade and we raised over 2600.00 in 2 days for our kids.2055.00 on Sat., and 605.00 on Sun.

So THANK YOU

only had 1 return and request a refund! Tried to tell me that my sausage was not cooked because it was pink inside. After an exuasting talk of how I smoke cooked the sausages,And that it was pink on the outside not inside, I gladly returned their money and informed them---If you leave the parking lot go 2 lights and take a left McDonalds is on the right............Some people

Well done!

I wonder if you were to have your therm on hand and there were still sausages left if you might let them pick their own and therm it right there in front.

I know in reality this never works, I was told once the Boston Butt I was pulling was not cooked on the outside, but I had done a nice job on the inside! How do you cook the inside but not the outside in a smoker?

A microwave maybe, but in a smoker?

They must be happy to have that sort of money to kick off the season, and to have only one turnback, you have begen the education of hundreds to BBQ.

Sounds like a good job all round to me. Pat yourself on the back, but watch out for a dislocated shoulder if you do!

Mutha, I feel your pain.

many years ago, Even my own parents argued that my smoked chicken was not cooked fully because of the smoke-ring! and my mother proceeded to try and put my chicken in a microwave. I asked her How she knew if ham was done then! And played devils advocate saying "if it is pink, It must not be done, huh?" then she got over her ignorance much faster. I bet the person that said it was not done was up there in age a few years.

Some people just do not get it. they are idiots, and there is no fixing Stupid.

Maybe an explanation like: "What is a smoke-ring" someplace on the signage?? or on plain view to help educate the stupid but almost still educable people?

Great job, and thanks for the pics! Very Happy (by the way, if you downsize them just a bit, it prevents the scrolling back and forth thing)

Awesome handling of the unhappy client too! Better to shut them up by giving them their money back, then to have them running off at the mouth to everyone and anyone that will listen. I love telling them to go on down to McDogsizzle myself! Wink Laughing Of course we try to educate the public, but there just isn't any education for stupid- "stupid is as stupid does" says Forrest! Thanks guys,

BBQ man,

I'm trying. Didn't know how.But I think I got it now. I never knew why they were coming out so large but I guess photobucket set that default when I joined. My apologise. And as far the the disgruntled consumer the guy sent his wife up to me, he wouldn't even come over and that was fine. To bad you can't tell them all what you really think sometimes. But unless I become independantly wealthy, I'll just smile and "thank you"

Oh wait that's what I told you guy's.... Laughing

Hey Gordon, how do you have that sign worded? It might be worth posting here for others to see.

Excellent!! I have seen the "smoke-ring education" Placque at quite a few places. Some go into more detail than others, But they all add that the deeper/darker the ring, the better the food.
