Mitchell,
I just ordered the 70 Series. Travis and Bob are great guys. Although I have never used one, I have heard great things about them. Especially when it comes to the design of the firebox and steamer adder. I hear there are no cool spots and heats even throughout...... _________________ DIAMOND D'Z BBQ Catering & Entertainment Svcs

| I don't know about the 60 or 70, but I've been very pleased with my Fat 50, especially with the snout dampers that I had Travis add, along with moving the air vents from the bottom of the firebox up to about the 8:00 position. |

I have both the Fat 50 and the 70 and will tell you that I love them they are easy to work with, easy to tow and the 70 holds a lot of meat. I have had 800 lbs of pork shoulder, also have done 18 case (30#) of ribs St Louis.
Over all it has the best preformance with even heat through out the smoker, does not burn a lot of fuel.....
And Travis and Bob are the greatest to work with |

Been looking at the Diamond Plates myself. The seem to not only be the best bang for the buck, but the design seems pretty flawless. I'm hoping that I can start a small time catering buisness in the near future...say parties between 100-300 people. Really like the product (as I've seen it online) and haven't heard anything bad about the smoker of the company yet. _________________ When all is said and done, more will be said than done! |

I must have misunderstood your 18 cases at one time statement could you confirm? 200 or so slabs? _________________ Rusty Saw Smokehouse BBQ

I purchased the FAT 50 last month and just completed its first competition last weekend. We finished second in ribs and second in pork butt. Our brisket turned out amazing, and the only thing I think that kept us from placing in that category was my rub. I had the wrong ratio of spices for the judge's liking... Just go buy it. You won't be disappointed!
Btw the FAT 50 alone managed to fit 350 pounds of brisket. |

There IS one thing that we'd like to change about the design - it would be great if Travis could develop a positive drain in the bottom of the cooker. It would make draining and cleaning easier if the bottom were designed such that fluids would flow toward the drain as a matter of course. Not a deal breaker by any means, but it would be a great addition. It would assuredly add to the cost, though, after having seen what my DH Robert went through in building a positive draining cooker floor for the 30 sq' Stumps clone that he's currently building. (Note - the Fat 50 has 31 sq' of cooking space.)
Oh, and ya gotta get the chrome package. Nothing says BBQ Bling like honest-to-goodness authentic Peterbilt chrome stacks on your cooker.

Set the ribs on rib rack (they hold 11 ribs ) both shelves total of twenty rib racks or 540 lbs of ribs. |

I believe he meant an eighteen count, thirty pound(probably loin backs) case, as you would buy at Sam's... _________________ Klose 72" Mobile

| Just wanted to clear this up it was 18 cs or 540lbs of ribs that I did on the my 70 for this party.......There were 215 full racks of ribs on the smoker all in rib racks that hold 11 full ribs. Needless to say the 70 holds alot of food....... |
