Has anyone ever tried smoking with pecan shells? I have a friend that swears by it, and we have a bunch of pecan trees on the property. I've been using dead limbs, but was wondering about the shells.

i have a nut proccessing plant in my area and they sell me the pecan shells really cheap its just like pecan wood chips in my opinion they do burn fast though
