I found this at home depot today for $4.99 per 20 lb pag, so i bought 2 bags. i have tried and loved Royal Oak and B&D. but i they are a little more difficult for me to find around here. this stuff i would be much closer for me if it is any good.

i checked their web site and i don't see this product anywhere. this is an bruette maked from "100% hardwood and yucca starch" and it is called "Rancher" made by "The Original Charcoal Company".

http://www.originalcharcoal.com/

anybody have experience with this brand?

I have always heeded the warning of, "You get what you pay for"

But who knows, it may be ok.

Yucca starch?? Does it mention the country of origin, or type of woods being used? I am willing to bet it is a south American sourced product with a flavor that is the typical perfume'ish smell.

let us know?

BTW, this must be a briquette if it has a starch binder?

i have purchased it from ace hardware in the past. its a good charcoal and they had a variety of wood flavors in the smoking chunks available. not sure about the yuca starch part but it was good charcoal comparable to royal oak
