have you read "Rammer Jammer Yellow Hammer"? It is the book about Bama Rving...I have always had a little respect for Bama and their fans...not a lot of hate like I have for Auburn or UF...
anyway there is a story in that book about a couple that skipped their daughters wedding because it was on the UT weekend... I actually know someone that is skipping their daughters wedding this season because it is during a football game...hell and I think that it is the MSU game...they are all big though... |

You all know that I hail from the heart of Bourbon country (Central Kentucky) so I can't hardly believe some of you guys talking about "Jack Daniels?" JD is not Bourbon! It's whiskey. Gross whiskey that is.
My favorite bourbon is Russell's Single Barrell. Jimmy Russell is a master distiller for Wild Turkey and they allowed him to make his own. Great bourbon. Top shelf stuff.
Oh, by the way.....do you know the best thing that ever came out of Tennessee?

Was always a Jack drinker, then I bought a house and had a kid, so I tried Evan Williams due to the price and found out I loved it. Good price, great taste, can't beat it. I also like Wild Turkey and Rebel Yell. |

I tried this the other day and found the back of the bottle funny. Maybe it was only funny when I was drinking it!

We keep a bottle of Yukon Jack in the freezer up at deer camp and when someone gets deer we all gather with the bottle and take a hit off it.
I must admit though I'm not a big fan. _________________ Good Talkin' With You

My favorite is the one my friend buys. Second favorites are the ones I buy and hide:
For Sippin, I like Bookers. Clean, and smokey flavor! Especially considering the proof. A sip goes a long way on the finish!
Knob Creek is a little sweet for me, I do like the way it tickles the nose but doesn't deliver that knock out the initial sip gives the impression of!
For heavy mixin, Jim Beam Black
For light mixin, anything |

Now that I'm all up in the Kentucky Bourbon region, there are a handfull of distilleries within 150 miles from the house and one being re-opened here in OWB.
My favorites so far:
Makers Mark
Elijah Craig, 12 yr old (18yr old is out of my league)
1792 Ridgemont Reserve _________________ Big Tom

I was probably all of 10 years old when my folks and I toured the Maker's Mark distillery. Stuck my finger in that big tank of mash and got a taste too. Plan sometime here in the near future to try batch of sauce made with some MM. Something different from the fruit and citrus based for a change.
As far as drinking, I like beer and even that is on rare occasions.
Either
Miller Chill
Dos Equis Lager
Molson Golden
Or some micro brew that grabs my attention when browsing through them.
I learned long ago to leave the hard stuff alone except the occasional shot of peppermint schnapps. The other stuff, brings out my bad side. |

My favorite ones are:
Four Roses single Barrel
Jim Beam Black
Woodford Reserve
1892
I HIGHLY recommend EVERYONE try and find Old Rip Van Winkle 10 year either 90 proof or 107 proof, VERY smooth and good for about $25.00
And for special occasions the only bourbon to drink is Pappy Van Winkle 20 year or 23 year, it IS the best bourbon in the world. The 20 year was rated 99 out of 100 in the world and its about $100.00 a bottle |

Evan Williams Single Barrel
I vaguely remember a Yukon Jack promotion night at the Fairchild NCO Club. Ohhh, the wife was upset with me (we were only married two weeks at the time) _________________ CharGriller 5050 w/ SFB

When it comes to Bourbon it has to be Woodford Reserve. Every time I am in the US I always pick up a bottle at the duty free store.
When it comes to Canadian Whiskey it is between Forty Creek or Wisers Deluxe.
Gin has to be Bombay Saphire.
For Rum Appleton Estates from Jamaica just can't be beat.
For the liqueurs I like Disaronno, Amarula and Sambuca.
For Beer I like Creemore Springs up here and when I am in the US I pick up Yuengling |

Canadian Whiskey is a little sweet for my taste. I do like Forty Creek pretty good. I have a buddy that always has some in his RV at comps just in case I need to take the edge off. _________________ Zilla
