|
|
I'm building my first UDS, wondering about exhaust location. Everywhere I read says to drill 4+ one inch holes in the lid. I'm wondering if instead of the lid, I can drill the holes on the side of the barrel, about an inch from the top.
Would that be just as effective?
Reason I'm favoring the side of the barrel is so I can reuse to hold rebar to hang meat. I don't want to have holes in the lid plus holes on the side, I'm thinking too many holes and it won't hold heat well. _________________ Greg |

Look at the top of this section at the sticky on UDS's. All the best info you can use. Good luck... |

If it is an open top drum just use the 2" bung hole that is plenty. _________________ Always remember slow and steady wins the race.

It's a closed top drum. I'll probably do four 3/4 in holes at the top, and four 5/8 inch holes on the side near the top for the rebar and cover them when not in use. _________________ Greg |
