I recently bought a used Traeger that was blowing fuses. I determined that it was the auger motor and purchased a replacement. Now the auger motor runs all the time even if the control is off. It is plugged in to the correct connector and there are no obvious wiring shorts. Any advice on what else to look for?

I don't know anything about Traegers, but based on what you describe I would expect that the device (triac or relay) on the control board that turns the auger motor on and off is bad.

If you can safely debug a live AC circuit then you might be able to fix it. Otherwise you would be best off getting a whole new control board from Traeger (assuming they sell them).

Thanks. That is probably what it will end up being.

Can you post a Schematic drawing of the wiring, or share the model and maybe I can find one online

If you do end up purchasing a new controller, you might consider a true PID like the Pellet Pro. I made that swap, and now the cooker works like it should have from the factory, and holds a set temperature to within a few degrees rather than the 25 degree swings I had with the stock controller.
