I texted with Kevin (k.a.m.) today and they are flooded. I asked if there is anything we can do and given mail and services like Fedex are not running can't send help. He said it's just a waiting game at this point waiting for the rain to stop. Once life returns to "normal" I told him to let us know what they need. Gotta help our brothers and sisters out! Hang in there Kevin and Debbie and all others caught in this mess.

Maybe some one can set up a paypal account for members to donate some money to help out. Who knows how long mail will be out. Hoping for the best for you East Texas guys, y'all have taken a pounding.

Had to come out of retirement for this one. Even though I don't post anymore (life has gotten just way too busy) I still lurk from time to time.

I was texting with Kevin this afternoon.

They had some flooding and were without power for the last week, but he wanted me to let you all know that he and Debbie are doing fine.

They just got power back today, and he said he'd check in here once he gets caught up a bit with the damage control.

Go Fund Me would be a great option. People can just donate through there, and then it can be sent via Paypal to KAM and Debbie.

Best wishes from the Northeast !

Thank you everyone for thinking of Debbie and me. We are okay and I apologize for not getting on sooner I have been super busy between home and work. We took on water but will survive a lot of folks lost everything and that is really hurting me. This storm just kept on hammering us like nothing I have ever seen. The night we flooded we had 27" of rain in 11 hours we actually watched the water rise in our den and could do nothing about it.
We were without power for 10 days and basically an island for 4 days with no way to get out because I 10 was flooded. We did what we do and cooked for neighbors emptying our competition freezer of meats along with what ever we could cook. I am ready to move to Montana except for the snow lol. Maybe up to Maine or Massachusetts.

All the best,

Kevin & Debbie

Sure good to hear from you, Kevin. Glad it was no worse for you than it was. I can't even begin to imagine being in a disaster like that.

God bless you and Debbie and give you strength to cope.

I don't think Montana is a good idea, though. Shocked Very Happy

Kevin, I know what you mean; as I was furiously packing up whatever I could, loading 91 head of cattle, etc. etc. etc. in a driving rain, in anticipation of the Brazos coming out the next morning, I actually had thoughts of moving from here for the first time in the 22 years since I first moved out here.

I got over it after a few days.

We had 8" under a pier and beam house, and my shop had an inch or two; the river's crest was 4-1/2' less than what they were once forecasting, however, so I'm pretty happy with how we came out. I've got several months worth of repairing fences and stuff ahead of me, but I really got off lucky compared to so many.

Hope your rebuilding goes well.
