I bought a motor home that has a SD dish on it. I would like to up grade to HD. It has a cable/sat switch box and coax ran to 3 TV's. Pulling HDMI cables seems impossible same with pulling cat5. Any good suggestions would be great...diagrams even better, more complicated than I thought Embarassed

I got this from an old PC article Maniac.
"The very first step is to make sure your cable or dish converter is HD! Second you don't necessarily have to use HDMI if the box is HD and has component outs and the company is using the components outputs for HD". And that is the extent of my knowledge other than explain how to gut the walls and run new cable. Very Happy
Found this also.

Not sure exactly what set up you have. All I can tell you is I have Direct TV satellite service. From the dish to the receivers is just RG 6 coax. (RG 59 won't work on HD.) Then the receiver that is supplied by the satellite company has and short HDMI cable to the back of the TV. If your TV doesn't have HDMI input on the back there is a cheap adapter you can get.
What satellite company is it? I would guess most boxes they sell these days are HD but I'm not sure.

flyin-lowe all my TV's are hd they all get hd with the roof top antenna ... it has a dish network sat on the roof also but it is SD and I would like to up grade to HD...I did not chose a provider yet till I see what equipment I will need. it also came with a HD receiver and a external 3 T hard drive.

Ok that is out of my league then. My mind tells me you just need to contact a provider (Direct, Dish Network) and have them set you up as a new customer. They will bring the dish, boxes, etc. I don't know that any of the providers can use others existing equipment but I'm not sure about that. When I got my Direct TV set up there was no charge for the equipment, I just called them and they come set it up and I start paying my month bill. I am assuming there is something available for mobile homes to get the dish aligned once you get settled in an new location.
