I'm trying to lay out the door cutout for a vertical offset tank build (120 gallon compressor tank). I have read that I need to stay at least 1" away from the factory weld seams with all my cuts. I will be using a 48"x1/8" piano hinge for my door. Is it OK if my door hinge welding is directly on the factory seam welding??? _________________ -Oklahoma Joe Longhorn

Yes you can, you can even grind it smooth.
It's not a presser vessel anymore. |

You can cut that close as long as you have room to seal you will be fine as Maniac stated. _________________ Always remember slow and steady wins the race.
