You know, the funny thing is that I've never had the problems with straight cast iron as I've had with my enameled cast iron Dutch oven. Seems like anything you cook in it with starch or sugar in it burns on the bottom every time. I've searched the web and tried numerous methods to clean it.
Oh well, it still is functional as a doorstop. |

I love my cast iron pans and DO's. They are perfectly seasoned and everyone knows that I'm the only one to use and clean them. Years ago my sister thought she was doing me a favor by cleaning the dishes and washed one of my pans in dawn. I was pretty cool about it, although the wife and kids thought I would come unglued. After a half pound of bacon and a couple sausage patties, it was good as new again.
My kids got me a coated one for Christmas last year, and to my surprise, I like it. I still prefer the originals, but it's not bad. |
