That last 24 - 36 hours is the pits, if you ask me, 6:00 AM Wednesday - 3:30 PM Thursday, in my last one without solids, you could hear me growling, (or at least my stomach growling), by the time I went in.

And I was ready to get home an hour before they released me, and even then I wanted to eat, and couldn't hold anything down without feeling bloated and nauseous.

Then they'd taken some biopsies and the wait for those results, was one I had to sweat out, all clear, but they want to have another visit in 6 months... don't want to go through it all again, but it's better than the alternatives, IMO!

Yep, I 've got to get an updated one this year. I always plan to get it done first thing in the morning so I'm not starving all day.

Prep isn't much fun, but you can get through it.

My advice to those who haven't had one... It isn't a fart. Laughing

Things men say during a colonoscopy…..

1. "Take it easy Doc, you're boldly going where no man has gone before!"

2. "Find Amelia Earhart yet?"

3. "Can you hear me NOW?"

4. "Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?"

5. "You know in Arkansas we're now legally married."

6. "Any sign of the trapped miners Chief?"

7. "You put your left hand in, you take your left hand out..."

8. "Hey! Now I know how a Muppet feels!"

9. "If your hand doesn't fit, you must quit!"

10, "Hey Doc, let me know if you find my dignity."

11. "You used to be an executive at Enron didn't you?"

12. "God, Now I know why I am not gay."

13. "Could you write a note for my wife saying that my head is in fact not up there

14. Can you see the end of the rainbow doc

15. I can taste metal

16. Are you sure there is not a sketch artist up there

17. I thought that this was against the Geneva convention

I had my 3rd colonoscopy back in January. I got good results and the Dr. said I should be good for 10 years unless I start having problems.

To add to Smokin Mike's list:

*Would you mind taking your watch and rings off?
*How are things going back there?
*This isn't being recorded is it?

Good luck Mike. Very Happy I have had five and also a part of the ole colon removed its a walk in the park brother. Very Happy
A bit of advice when you wake up just let that air out its normal and the nurses are accustomed to hearing it. My last one me and another guy had dueling farts going the nurse (young in her 20's) laughed and said music to my ears. Laughing
Here is a little video to lighten up the mood. Very Happy

I can't stop laughing. I get mine in three weeks. Great way to spend my only week off in the summer.
