I am looking to buy a smoker to start doing competitions and festivals. We own a BBQ restaurant and use a Southern Pride there. I have used Langs before and really like them, but I don't have $7k to spend on one right now. I know you get what you pay for, but I also think the right pitmaster can put out a killer product on any pit once they get to know it. That doesn't mean I'm 100% against spending on a Lang, just weighing my options.

So, any suggestions for something out there that might be a little more budget friendly that still does a decent job? Looking for a reverse flow offset on a trailer preferably. It definitely has to be portable.

Any suggestions?

Paul and Tyler Shirley of Shirley Fabrication.
Their cookers are second to none and reasonably priced.

What is your location I have a Lang 84 kitchen that is mounted on a trailer that I picked up 2 months ago I'm thinking about selling. Or you can look at Bubba Grills I have a 500 hog cooker that is the easiest smoker I've ever used

I met Paul on another forum. He was wanting to start building cookers and asked my help with some design questions. While we have never met I consider Paul a very close friend and we talk as often as two old guys can. If i could not build my own I would buy a cooker from Paul plain and simple.

I'm in Louisiana. I just saw you are in Florida. That's a hop, skip, jump and a day at the beach away. What are you looking to get for the Lang?

They are very busy but the cooker is worth the wait in my opinion.
