Neighbor gave me a 1000 pound refrigerant storage tank. Hasn't had anything in it in a long time. Pulled a couple of plugs, stuck a flash light in one and peered in thru the other. Other than light surface rust it looks good. How do I go about cleaning out any residue from the refrigerant? Going to fill it with water when I take the angle grinder to it. Will be going on a trailer so the CC will be a cabinet style.
Will just rinsing with water be good?[/img]

Certain refrigerants are flammable so you may want to check into that before moving forward. A lot of folks will use water and a butt load of Dawn dish washing detergent to get out any residual oils.

Not only are some flammable, some actually put off some quite toxic gases when burned: like chlorine, hydrogen sulfide etc. etc.: ad nauseum. I'd REALLY put some effort into finding out just exactly what was in it and just what the effects are going to be..
