Looking for help with a smoker I just took on a trade without doing any research first. I have only used a big green egg for my smoking needs so I am way out of my league and this is quite the jump for me. This trailer has a storage box on the front which I thought was a fire box before I went to looked at it and it turns out there is no fire box.. There is what appears to be a propane hook up towards the rear (which I assume is for starting??) It does have a welded propane tank holder on the front but no lines run to the back where that hook up is. The rig has the same doors that open on both sides of the trailer and 4 total racks that can slide out on either side. The smaller door towards the rear has a single rack that slides out and the bottom grate is obviously where its previous owners had their fire due to some slight warping of the bottom grate. Anyone know who might have made this? What kind of set up it is? What its value might be? Any Information would be helpful Thanks in advance!

I don't have a vast knowledge of cookers but the only thing that I have ever seen that resembles that cooker would be something that was home made so to speak. I don't think it is a commercial made cooker by looking at it. It looks like it has a very small stack and I don't see any intake vents so I would think that air flow would be a problem. I also don't see any thermometers to indicate your cooking temps. If the small grate on the bottom is where the fire or coal bed is laid, I don't see how the bottom rack would get enough heat to cook without overheating on the top rack. I'm sure with some modifications it could be made into a pretty good (functioning)cooker/smoker. The only way to know anything about how it works would be to build a fire in it and see how it holds heat. You can do a biscuit test with biscuits placed evenly throughout the top and bottom racks to see if they cook evenly. I'm sure someone else will come along and give some input that may explain it to both of us. _________________ Chargriller

I'm not an experienced in smoking but I was thinking if you had contact number for the person you got it from could you not contact them and ask how they used it.
Is there an opening between the Box you suspect to be where they make fire and the CC?
