| I just wanted to ask another opinion. I have 120 gallon cook chamber approximately 24 x 65. I cut the firebox to cook chamber opening 5 3/4" up from the bottom. I want to know if this is correct. The firebox will be 24" wide x 20" tall and 20" long. Will this be big enough? I can make CC opening bigger if need be. Also, I would like to add tuning plates. Would 4.5" from the bottom of CC then 4.5" to food rack work? Will post pictures as soon as I figure how to! Thanks!! |

I would use an opening 14" 1/4" wide x 7" 1/8" tall. Your tuning plates can set anywhere between 4.5" and 6" below the top of your grate. _________________ Always remember slow and steady wins the race.

If you followed the shape of the tank, 5 3/4" high cut-out will give you 83 sq.in. throat. The calc calls for 77" so you should be good. _________________ If it's tourist season, how come I can't shoot 'em?
