Is there any difference in draft capabilities between round chimney pipe and square. The Feldon pit calculator gives length and volume for round pipe but not square tube. As long as I keep the length and volume the same, will I have problems using square instead of round? This is for our RF build

For a simple exhaust stack I doubt that the difference is measurable. If you were piping liquids or gasses for a distance then round is preferable because it produces less turbulence. Turbulence creates restriction and reduces flow efficiency.

Some of us will anguish and lose sleep over silly little stuff like this and just to keep harmony in our anal retentive brains we would use round pipe. Shocked

If you want to have the same flow between a round and square pipe for the exhaust, then you need square pipe that the round pipe would fit inside.

Fluid flow dynamics is clear.

These two pipes would have the same flow through, so quare pipe will be heavier and take up more space for the same flow.

Thanks guys!

Going shopping for round. I was at the scrap yard and all they had in the size we need was square or rectangular. I would be one to anguish and lose sleep for sure Laughing
