I have noticed lately some folks complaining about the way SoEzzy monitors the site. We must all remember that this is Garry's site and SoEzzy just moderates it under the rules that Garry has implemented.

SoEzzy's pay for this daunting task is a small banner add for his business now if you calculate that price into pay most of us would say it is not worth my time. SoEzzy does this for the love of the ring and trying to keep it clean and in order for all members to enjoy.

The rules for this site are everywhere you go in the form of sticky's. If someone gets mad because something happened to a thread or what ever they should be mad at themselves for not reading the rules not the Man that enforces them.

Some rules SoEzzy made to help make his job easier since he cannot be on the forum 24/7. It is also a waste of space for when someone posts something that is inappropriate for the forum and SoEzzy should have to wait for a response from that member.

We all need to trust his judgement because he is being as lenient and even handed as possible in my opinion.

I think Chris does a fantastic job moderating this site.....
if your not strick or start bending rules the site will end up like a lot of other poorly moderated sites.....keep up the good work Chris.

My initial gripe when coming to this site was about the size restrictions of the images. I know it's because of the software chosen and the ads that surround the posts, but this is the only forum I have ever been on that restricts you to 650 pixels on the longest side.
Since I have been here a while, I am fine with it because you really don't need anything bigger (higher res) to get the point across. I also have decided that smaller images elsewhere on all the other forums is fine as well and just helps to speed the loading of images for people with slow connections.

If you are selling a car or motorcycle or something that has a high value you want high res photo's but for posting about cook's you have done, it's fine.

Too bad there is no automatic way of policing it though, it would make the job much easier.

IMHO, someone needs to moderate the site otherwise it will become nothing but spam. I support the bear!

I completely agree. I have seen other non-moderated sites where things get out of hand, and helpful members leave because of constant harassment from a few other members.

I had a post a while back where a large pic slipped though and SoEzzy sent me a friendly PM alerting me of the problem, and also added that my food looked great.

Being hamstrung by the software capabilities of this site, and constantly having to enforce pic sizes among other things can't be so easy.

I appreciate his presence here, and think his hand is the ideal weight Very Happy

It Is What It Is Here on these Forums...Those That Don't Like the Way SoEzzy Runs this Joint Can Always Choose to leave and Chase the Dragon on One of Those "Other Barbecue Forum Pages." Shocked

These Forum Pages Are The Real Deal With the Best of the Best, Internationally...Period.

Thank You Chis andCarry On, Brother Cool

Well I voted yes. But he's a bear!! Aren't they supposed to have heavy hands (paws)?! Laughing

Sorry, I couldn't resist. In all seriousness, no. Being the moderator of anything means some will be mad and some will be happy regardless of what you do or say. We can't all be happy all the time. I think he does an amazing job.

I say no, he has done a fantastic job keeping the site clean and free of riff raff (Spammers etc). He has also gained and imparted more bbq wisdom than most of us will ever learn.
Big thanks to all that you do SoEzzy. With that being said...Let's Geaux BBQ!

I think soEzzy does a great job. I have been on this site for about 1 1/2 years and I cant remember seeing that would make me think he was being too hard on anyone. As it has been mentioned before, I think the site restrictions create more of a headache for him as it does us. I think he does a great job with keeping everything in check. Keep up the good work.

^^^^^^ What they ALL said ^^^^^^

I see some 'people' get on here who don't want to play by the rules and get admonished, then they act like little 12 year old girls. I figure good riddance if they get PO'd and leave. I get enough aggravation from other poorly modded sites I'm on.

NOW - Let's all sing together....

"Kumbaya....." Laughing Laughing

While I may be late to the party, my opinion is that rules are rules and need to be enforced to be followed. None of the rules here are beyond reason, and from what I can see So Ezzy has done a great job of keeping the site on track.

I couldn't have said it better.

I've posted before on how inconsistent moderation of other forums I've participated in hacks me off.

Chris has a great consistent hand as moderator and participant in discussions here. I have seen no Moderator's Favorites in the time I've been here. When I messed up a photo size I got the same message everyone gets. It sure didn't get on my nerves. I knew it made extra work for him in just pointing it out to me.

I'm not musically talented, so y'all will just have to trust I'm Kumbayayaing in spirit. Wink

Just curious Chris - did you cast one of those three "Yes" votes yourself? Shocked

Now I'm off to cook 20 lbs. of chicken leg quarters and 12 lbs. of pork ribs on my trailer smoker this afternoon before the really cold weather gets here.
