I want to know peoples thoughts on charcoal. Is Kingsford the end-all be-all when it comes to charcoal? They seem to dominate the market, but I've heard some stuff recently about what goes in their product and quite frankly it concerns me. Is there better charcoal out there or are they all the same? Any recommendations on a good charcoal I should be using? |

So many charcoals....I think Kingsford might make a good Briquette charcoal...but thats something I very seldom use.
I use briquette charcoal only when using my Dutch oven...then it is only used for a heat source.
When I use charcoal to bbq, I use Lump charcoal....my favorite brand is Dragon Breath http://www.nakedwhiz.com/lumpdatabase/lumpbag78.htm
burns hot...little ash and is made of Hickory and Oak......
There are a few others I like as well...Maple Leaf lump is also on the top of my list.
For great charcoal reviews check out this link....

If you want a good briquette, try Stubbs from Lowes. Very consistent and burns hot. It is also all natural.
