I use the Square stand, actually just bought another yesterday - used IPAD 4 from college kid $200.00 [ $350 new], stand from square $100.00[ they only make the stand [now] for IPAD 4 or air, 2.75% per swipe, no matter how many or few. Can simply stop using it and no fee's etc. More reports and apps than I can possibly begin to use! I use my phone as a hotspot, and if there is no signal at an event, I have 3 days to get signal to IPAD or I do lose said sales, but can simply remove stand from trailer and take somewhere there is a signal after hours....also, if a card was bad, I lose said sale...2 years running, lost a total of exactly $6.00 to insufficient funds on a card I took Sad
All in all, I am very happy with it!

Its a long cold winter up here in the Frozen Tundra, and I have no life outside BBQ, so the internet is my closest friend Confused Very Happy
Not saying its the only one out there, but works quite well for me!
BTW, my sales jumped 20% the day I started accepting cards..." oh, you take cards? Toss in a full rack, I'll reheat them for dinner" type purchases started immediately! Our last day last fall, after having lunch a new customer saw credit card sign and took 20# to freeze to hold them over during our down period Cool

Yea it's a pretty chilly 51 this am. If you need a winter break you could come on down and I'll take you bass fishing on Lake Okeechobee

I use Paypal Here. It's pretty much the same thing as square. You can sign up if you have a paypal account. They send you a free card reader. And like Tony said it tracks all of your sales you can pre load all of your items into it it's super fast and I plug the card reader right into my IPhone. Will probably go to an I pad for the summer.

I used to use paypal myself. Really liked that it almost immediately put the funds directly onto a pre paid card I could use to run to get more stuff if needed. I personally had no to very little issues with the little reader, but had employee's who just couldn't use the little reader. One broke the plug in on my phone, then broke the same socket on an android tablet!! Thats when I went to square for the "stand" with the long, durable built in card slider - no issues since. They are coming out with the, required by law by October, EVP[?] [little chip reader , that will plug into the square system and stand on counter]. Lots of others out there, very competitive pricing, but most have the little slide reader that a certain, very good employee, just cant figure out....I wont mention Jane's name here......Oh wait..... Confused

I use square and love it. I sprung for the Fresh KDS which sends your orders to a display "tablet via wifi. No more hand writing and reading bad hand writing.

Square is here in Canada but they don't offer debit (Interac) which many people here love....the only one I can find that offers a debit option is through Moneris and they tend to really stick it to you with their fees.

Does anyone have other options for us Canucks?

I ordered the Square but have not received it yet but with the download we were able to use it but not without a few problems I'm glad only two people wanted to use a card. I'll play with it today and hope it gets here before Friday.

We did not make much money on the event but I think we will get two catering jobs out of it

We have been using Square since we started up in early November with zero problems. Transactions taken before 5:00 pm are in the bank the following day with the exception of Friday & Saturday transactions and they are always deposited on Monday unless it happens to be a Federal Holiday. My opinion is you cant go wrong with square in a food truck or trailer.
