Sorry to be so short sided with my earlier post but I'm from Memphis so please let me clarify,

Central bbq = many local favorites bbq spot now(says a lot), prefer the dry ribs. Wings dry are a must.
Rendezvous = downtown location...if you're in that downtown area, very good! get sausage cheese plate! dry ribs! beer.
Corkys = I went there as a kid and I still love it. Memphians seem to call it commercial now but I still love it. Again prefer their dry ribs. Did I say I love it.
Germantown Commisary = Memphis is a big place so your q a lot of times depends on your location, see rendezvous, but out east is Germantown commissary...bbq is top notch and desserts are better. Used to be all u can eat ribs on Monday!
Momas Bbq = best bbq sandwich in town..and best breakfast Memphis style if you have the time.

if you are going to be in Brighton you can travel a little east to Brownsville Tn to Helens BBQ...its an old fashion bbq place...smoky, dusty and not real pretty...nothing fancy here but good bbq. I have eaten there once and the bbq was top notch...I had the pulled pork sandwich and it was great...it has a great reputation among the locals and has been featured in several magazines and has always gotten good reviews. I would recommend that you get it and go as they only have seating for about 6 to 8 folks and the dinning area is very small.

While not BBQ, don't forget Gus' Fried Chicken.

corkys dry rub ribs are good. I get 2 slabs every time I'm in Memphis.

I tried either Interstate or Hi-Way BBQ and I was disappointed.
It's the Neely's dad bbq place but the bbq speghatti was good.

We were there in the fall. Thought Rendezvous was just ok. Cool place, but the ribs weren't special I didn't think. Did Central for lunch the next day and it was great.
