I got a little more done to the grill today. I got the door cut out and the seals put on then mounted chamber to the frame. I then built some hinges and a door stop and mounted the door.
I did have to tweak the door it sprung some but I got it back tight enough for my liking.

Just what is "tight enough for my liking"? Zero gap? 1/16"? _________________ Mike |

Thank you. I think that the smoker I'm building is within that tolerance. I'll check next time I see it. Thanx again, _________________ Mike |

Good deal dmike25. In my opinion you can tighten that up with RTV silicone if you want it tighter.
Thank You auto5man. _________________ Always remember slow and steady wins the race.

Hey K.A.M. i have studied your pictures on the roof system for a whie now, is your only side to side support on the roof itself and none on the walls? I see the bottom gussets front to back but not side to side. Love your whole build, absolutley beautiful. _________________ Weber Performer for grilling

Thank You slippery chicken. The top of the canopy has forward/aft braces and left/right braces the bottom is just forward and aft. It is very stable. _________________ Always remember slow and steady wins the race.

Thank you, thinking of doing the same thing to my trailer if you dont mind me trying to copy your crafty work. Did you over hang the top about 10 to 12 inches over the sides. I cant imagine it, but is there anything you would change about your roof or sides? _________________ Weber Performer for grilling

The top has about an 8" overhang.
To this date no I would not change a thing they are self contained the way I mount the rods so only pins are loose. _________________ Always remember slow and steady wins the race.

I had some time Sunday to work on the grill. I got the exhausts ,door handles, therm couplings, and the front tray on. I also got the intake spinners cut out.
Some pics of the exhausts.
Then I cut the spinner openings and tilted the grill to work on the handles.
Done for the day as I had yard work to do.
I need to build the coal grate and the cooking grate then she is ready for paint. _________________ Always remember slow and steady wins the race.

That looks fantastic Kevin. Can't wait to see it in action! Oh, and don't forget about the eyebrow protectors for the thermometers, they're important. _________________ 250 Gallon Trailer Build |
