I used to use veggie oil to cure but switched to PAM to keep the outside of the smoker clean. This weekend the only bottle of PAM I had was organic canola oil.
I sprayed the drum down and fired it up for an overnight slow burn. 8 hours later, I fired it up and started cooking for another 6.5 hours. The oil stayed runny and never cured to the drum. I could also taste the oil in the food after the cookout. Now I need to take a roll of paper towels out there to wipe it all off and start again.
