Thanks Al, I didnt even get a chance to try it short of a few bits from the cutting board after I was done slicing it up.
I was nice to meet you and put a face to the name, I remember you fro St Catharines but I didnt realize who you were, I was a mess Sunday morning... _________________ Chargriller Akorn

Roxy, I sure don't think I'll be needing to worry about the prize money. Is that the biggest contest in Canada?
Kimmal, where can I find info on the Ottawa contest? Is it bigger than the Barrie one? It's about 100mi. closer to me but the timing is not as good. _________________ D. Tillery

The Open is the biggest one I know of up here. Heres a link that will direct you to a page that has several threads relating to the events.

The CBA site does not appear to be updated for the 2007 season as of yet..
It would be great to see you come out to one of our events my friend, we are trying to attract American teams and I think that there are 7 or 8 teams from the US coming to the Canadian open this year with a couple teams from Cookshack as well. _________________ Chargriller Akorn

Roxy, Thanks for the links. That Ottawa Faire sounds interesting. I wish I had a sword and chainmail.
About Barrie, I ran it by the Boss this morning and she seemed pretty pumnped about it. We don't know how much longer we will be up here and it is a shame to be so close, at least in TX terms, and not go. I hope we can make it work.
I may be able to talk another (actually THE other) RI team into road tripping or we may combine our efforts. _________________ D. Tillery

The Barrie event, The Canadian Open, is a unique event and is unlike any in the US that I know of. Each meat entry includes side dishes so this makes it a bigger challenge for sure, I believe in MIM there is only one where you got to have sides in the box as well. There is a sauce catagory, dessert and new this year, anything but.
If you need a good meat supplier there is one in town, one of our sponsors, that is excellent and I can help you to make arrangements to have some meat ready as I know its not very easy to get it accross the border. _________________ Chargriller Akorn

Thanks Tony, it sure was intimidating passing out our food to the teams we compete against...
From what I hear, the brisket was gone in no time at all. _________________ Chargriller Akorn

Roxy, I was wondering about crossing the border with meat and produce. I figured it might be a problem. I will plan on buying everything there. I'll probably take you up on the meat supplier, thanks.
How about crossing the border with a trailer and dog? _________________ D. Tillery

I dont see a problem with a dog as long as ya got all the shots and stuff. probably best to ask a vet about that.
Diva's right about Hoveys meats. Great product and old fashioned service as well. _________________ Chargriller Akorn

A couple of years ago it was that a dog needed to have had a Rabies shot in the 30 days prior to crossing the border, and you had to carry the certificate with you.
It may have changed since, so check with Customs & Border Protection _________________ Here's a change Robert.

Thanks, I don't know if Buster will join or not but I don't want any problems. Sometimes competitions frown on pets too with health dept concerns. I just hate to have to board him.
How about crossing the border with a trailer? Any concerns there? It has to be better than Mexico. _________________ D. Tillery

There should be no problem crossing with your trailer. _________________ - Jim
