Sent my oldest off to college at UGA last Tuesday. Painful to let him go, even if I know he has the tools in his box to be a success.
In the meantime, I helped a neighbor who was getting divorced move out of his house the next day. Yeah, I'd been drinking a bit (he had a big bottle of CC that the three of us emptied. One of the things he was packing was a Remington Model 7400 30.06 rifle with a Tasco scope and a camo carrying case. He'd complained how he didn't like the gun and had only put about 10 rounds through it.
The next day, I made him an offer of $300 for it and he accepted it and through in about 100 rounds of 180 grain ammo.
Yeah, it was hard to let the kid go, but I made a real score on this rifle.
Hope to put a better scope on it when the exchequer will allow it, but it's one hell of a deer rifle. I'm not much of a hunter, but when the zombie apocalypse approaches, I'mma gonna take those sumbitches out, one head-shot at a time. |

It's the zombie possums you have to be careful of.
They play un-dead. |

Nice score! I've got a 742 (basically the same gun, just an earlier model). It's the first deer rifle I bought many moons ago. Love it. Killed quite a few Bambi's with it. _________________ The Matt Ryan of LIARS! (#2)

Mother, father, kids...I don't discriminate
Hey Mike - What's a 'worm gun'? (I know what you meant, but I can't help myself sometimes. I'm the funniest guy I know. Just ask me ) _________________ The Matt Ryan of LIARS! (#2)

The smaller they are, the easier they are to drag out da woods and stack like cord wood!!!! And talk about venison-veal!!!
I got ALL KINDS of static for shooting a "bambi" Elk in Co. .....Until it was chow time!! Best Elk anyone in our crew or family has ever eaten! [ and it was by far bigger than the biggest buck I've shot here in Wi. ] _________________ Money Maker
