Hey guys.
First post on this forum, I just wanted to see if any of you could help me.
I had a book that was a comprehensive illustrated guide on how to build about forty different outdoor grills, pits and smokers, by the look of the pics in the book it was written in or about the 60s/70s or maybe the 80s. It had really clear plans that described the building of each grill or pit and they were mainly if not all made out of stone. I cant remember the title or the author so i'm of no help there.
Any comments will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Search "Sunset's Barbeque Book." I have 7th printing, June 1944, copyright 1939. It kept getting updated and printed. A quick search found lots of editions in many years. _________________ Pitt's & Spitt's U2436 |

Thanks Paul,
I did see that during my exhaustive search through amazons database of grill and fire pit related books but I don't think its the same one.
In all honesty I cant remember the cover either but if I saw one of the plans inside id know straight away. the layout of the book consisted of a black and white(?) picture of the grill built and on the other page the grill plans laid out beautifully hand drawn then the preceding pages with the directions on how to build it. It was a concise and very beautifully laid out book and its driving me crazy I cant find it again.
Also it was comprehensive, consisting of small grill plans right up to huge grills with ovens and chimney stacks and even pits for roasting whole pigs in, I think they were split up into sections as well. |
