After looking for a while for a used free disc, I finally broke down and bought one from Agri Supply. (That place is dangerously close to my house!)
20" in diameter, 3/16" thick. Less than $17.00 It will have two spring handles and a diving board with a "lip".
Problem now is finding time to complete the project. I have several projects in front of this one. I would also like to build my own burner like Kevin did.

I'll have to figure out about pics later. Confused

A little "bling" for the future disco.
This was inspired by the "Jeep Dad" disco. Hope to have more pics by the end of the weekend.

Thanks k.a.m.
I cant take all the credit for the logo. I had one of our programmers at work to come up with something. He showed me the art work and told him to go for it. When I saw the cut piece, it looked even better. They cut 3 pieces for me and 2 diving boards. I will only use one though.

Making a little headway with the disco. Got the hole welded with some good old 6011. Then got the platform welded on and the lip around the platform is complete. For some reason my platform looks rectangular. It is 8 x 8 though.

Looks good. I also have a store less then 15 minutes from home which is good and bad Laughing I was in there the other day and spotted this http://www.agrisupply.com/bbq-disc-blade-discada/p/85077/&sid=&eid=/ I'm thinking that would be a good starting point... no need to weld plug or remove paint but it is steeper in price $30....

Thanks. I enjoy doing small projects so I started from scratch. That one is a little larger than mine and I was being cheap just try it out and see if I like it!
Very Happy

Well I am making slow progress on this disc. This is for my personal use and I am in no hurry. Have to pick up the springs for my handles...I plan to get them Monday. Also need to figure out how I want to mount them with my "bling". Comments welcome...thanks for looking.

Looks good ecave. Very Happy next time kick your board up about 10° so the juices run back into the disc. Very Happy

ecave, I have done the same more than once. If you want it up an easy way is just just the corners where the board meets the disc with a cutoff wheel. Then heat the weld and pull her up, after about the second slice with the cutoff wheel you will have a nice angle then just weld the pieces back up. Very Happy

Very nice build ecave. I've had to cut a board loose before to get a little incline in it for oil, grease, and juices Embarassed If you dont want to cut, you can just tilt your disc up a liitle on the board side when its sitting on the burner and that will do the trick as well. Are you using the "bling" as your handles? If so, why worry about trying to mount springs somehow? Gloves will do the trick to keep from burning yourself, and even with spring handles on mine, I use gloves all the time...well all but that first time, but hey...lesson learned!!

Thanks Troy! I think for right now I wont cut it but I will use the tilt method.
As far as the "bling", I didn't want to use it as a handle because of the heat. I have some springs I will use in an attempt to keep the handles cool(er) Very Happy
I also like the look of the springs.

I would get your spring handles on there and welded where you want them first. Then just take the bling and hold it around in different spots until you find a place you like it. Maybe one on the face of the diving board and one on the burner? Ill be looking to see what you end up with.
