Well I've lurked this site for years gaining tips and recipes, so I Thank you all that have been on smoke Ring the past 9 years.
I got delivery on my Ole Hickory CTO yesterday, and it is a beauty. It's a bit bigger than what my wife had expected Ohh(insert sophomoric thoughts here)
So, I prepped it and cut all the zip ties off of anything that had them and hooked up the 3/4 full propane tank.
Using the manual I started up the CTO- it sarted humming away immediately this was the convection fan motor. I put 1 small fist sized piece of BlackJack Oak in the wood box and within 3 minutes the burner came to life and it looks like the afterburner on a Strike Eagle. Just Beautiful! The manual says to turn temp control to 225 and wait about an hour to adjust the thermo unit to the temp control which I did.
At this time the temp reads 260 so I start 1/8 clockwise adjstments to the set screw. Inotice there is not a noise from burner tube anymore, but I figured it was the unit was hot enough and it was doing what it needed.
To make a too long introduction shorter- I never got the burner flame back. Shut the unti off after a few hours and then reattempted when the temp reading was pegged at ambient temp, i went through the guidance start up procedures and looked for CTO specific Troubleshoooting on the OH website but it seems it is generic to all. It says to listen for the clicking sound coming from the burner box Igniter spark. Nothing to be heard. So, I had to fire up my Weber Kettle, and my modified Grillman Grill to be ready for my party this afternoon. I called Kevin at OH and left a message last night hopefully this can be resolved quickly I have some restless friends.

Look forward to making contact with you all.
Kent

Welcome to the ring Kent, looking forward to seeing some pics of your cooks. Smile
Did you check to see if the door switch was depressed fully? If it is not closed the burner wont ignite. I believe there is also a reset button in the control panel if the cooker over heats it will trip. This is my limited knowledge of the simple things that may be the cause other than faulty parts.
I hope this helps. Very Happy
