Hi, I live in Canada, southern Ontario, and came across this forum the other day as I was looking for technical advice on building a backyard pit.

Although I thought I was a great bbq'er, I lived in Mississippi for a year and truly learned how much I didn't know. And I'm still learning from my friends in Tupelo and Dover TN.

I have a cheap chargriller barrel type grill that works great but I now have the go ahead from the boss (wife) to build a brick grill as long as it has a pizza oven. With the cold weather in the winter it's great for cold smoking and I made a ton of bacon. In the summer my style I guess would be more of a Memphis bbq.

I have briefly looked over this site and I'm looking forward to getting some advice and tips. One question I do have is, is there a link to the acronyms I've seen? ie: UDS etc...
