Been on the road for a while not had much of an opportunity to smoke much. I did smoke a couple yardbirds last night for supper.
Was in Arizona for a while working and soaking up the sun before it got crazy hot. It was a nice break from the winter back east.
One day we took a break and visited an old prison museum in Arizona.
It was pretty cool.
Outside the museum.
A still active mission across the tracks.
I think if we had these type prisons today we would not have an overcrowding problem. It was a metal rack in a rock room with the heat of the day and the coolness of the night nothing protecting an inmate from the elements. And hard work.
I made three aggravation games for family members. Who knew there were so many marble websites.
My Bride made the bags for the boards and a marble bag.
Flew to Colorado Springs when boarding the small jumper from Denver to CS snow was blowing into the plane.
Colorado Springs is slap happy beautiful.
Mine roller.
At Fort Carson we took a break for chow and there was this bbq vendor nearby so had to try it.
The bbq was good. The sauce has cinnamon in it which was different....but it was surprisingly tasty.
Kiddos had Spring Break so we rented a place in the Outerbanks of North Carolina. The ocean was very rough so much so that the Cape Hatteras Ferry suspended service.
Our home for a week...Rodanthe, NC.
We called down to Oregon Inlet to ask about a half day fishing trip. We were told the only thing biting was some kind of shark so not worth going out. Glad they were honest about it because we would have rented a fishing boat.
I enjoyed getting up before everyone in the morning grabbing a cup of coffee and a cigar and sitting on the upper deck watching the sunrise and listening to the ocean waves....therapeutic. It was a much needed relaxing time with the family. All the best.

Well that was a whistle stop tour... it's nice when folks care more about you having a good time than their pocket book, it makes you want to go back and use their services the next time you're around. _________________ Here's a change Robert.

Yep, Chris, I agree. it was refreshing (especially living in the greater DC area) to have someone actually truthful. You bet next time I'm in NC I will call and book a trip. Hope all is well.

Looks ya had a good time in your adventure. I went to Yuma and the prison (as a tourist ) in the 70's when I was a kid. I remember how neat it was seeing the ghost towns and the old prison. Thanks for bringing back a great memory! _________________ The Matt Ryan of LIARS! (#2)

Fortunately you were on the ocean side at OBX, the side facing the sound is pretty boring in my opinion. The whole trip looked quite enjoyable. _________________ WSM 22.5 - Chargriller Pro

Thanks Troy. Hope all is well with you and the family bro.
Old Smoker It was a nice relaxing time.
Rick, man you could clear the woods hunting with the gat! A group of my cigar smoking buddies are getting together this Saturday for chow and cigars. Looking forward to it. I'm keeping it simple smoking some whole chickens. Take care bro. |
