we got a foot of snow 72 hours ago, and it is now 55F degrees, I still have snow that is over knee-deep, and at least 2 feet of ice on may lakes yet, with tons of slush on top.

Do I hate it? YES I DO.
But living where I live beats most any other place that I have visited. I left 3 times in my life for greener pastures, and kept coming back here.

I saw a Great Blue Heron was back around our property again late last week, so I think the worst of the winter stuff is behind us in my current area for this season.

Now we just have to thaw out to handle the rains. We had a couple inches and you'd think it was a major event - minor flooding all around here with big patches of standing water still. The ground was frozen down to 4 feet deep this season. It's gonna take a while for that to thaw and be able to absorb water again.

Necron

I forget when you moved there , but , that whole area to the south of you , in the rt 568 area might as well be a lake in the spring , it is always under water with snow melt run off and heavy rains...

Also , a few nice things about living in Ohio where Necron and I live (he is about an hour west of me).

20% of the worlds fresh water supply is about 1 hour north of us...

We do not have major storms like hurricanes to deal with , we do have sporadic Tornadoes , but , nothing like what they get in tornado alley.

no major earthquakes to deal with...

we don't have any animals that are trying to kill us.

and in general most of the people in these parts are very nice ( there are a few exceptions I will admit)

Temperature is 48 here this morning here in MA. Going to fertilize and lime the lawn in a few minutes. Will also run the gas out of the snow blower. Took the plow and chains off the tractor last week and put on the mower. Took the snow tires off my wife's Escape on Sunday. Spring is finally here. Smile
