Hey Ya'll,
I'm from South East Mississippi. I'm a back yard BBQ nut. I have several cheap grills and smokers in varying stages of decay. I also have a brick wood fired oven, that I have been cooking in for about a year now. I am in the process of gathering up the materials for a UDS. I also have most of the materials (sadly, not the time right now) for an old time smoke house. I've been lurking for a few days and I like the layed back family atmosphere. It seems like ya'll are a friendly bunch. I'm looking forward to to learning as much as I can . |

| Yes I have my friend. My mother in law is from Piave. Father in law was from State Line. My wife was born and raised in Buckatunna. A life long friend of mine lives in Sand Hill. I know your area very well!! If you ever down my way give me a shout. I no longer live in Hurley but still own the place. I now live in Saucier between Gulf Port and Wiggins. |

| Gulf I just saw the link to your pics and looked at them. Wanted to say that is very impressive indeed. I have always wanted a brick upright. I just added a Pitmaker vault to my arsenal and it is fantastic but it pails in comparison to your brick pit. That's a fantastic job you did there brother. If you are interested I would love to hire you to build one for me. That's a serious offer to my friend as money is not much of a object. |

Thanks, very much, for the compliments, and the job offer SGH!
But, as of now, I am 1 whole year away from my EPRD (earliest possible retirement date) . I doubt that you can wait until I am available to knock one out in just a couple of weeks. Also, I am not sure that you understood that my oven is a "bread/pizza oven". Were you referring to a masonry BBQ pit? I have helped on many (masonry) BBQ pits and built a few on my on. As for as bread ovens go, this is my first. I did however, do a lot of research, before I tackled it. What is it exactly that you want to build?
If you have a bricklayer in mind or want to build it yourself, I don't charge for consulting neighbors .
If you don't mind, PM me with your's, your MIL's, and PIl's names. It is a small world. I bet ,I either know them, or may even be kinfolk!
