Does anyone have advice or an opinion on the miller 350p? They now have another model specifically set up for aluminum--the 350pa. It has a couple options that improve welding on aluminum but you wouldn't be able to switch guns for welding steel. I definitely want to branch out into aluminum work but I am not sure the benefits are worth the extra money.. |

Pitbullinc, I use pulse quite often at work on pipe. I have used the miller pipeworx pro and the lincoln powerwave 455stt. Pulse whether it is on steel or aluminum is a hole different animal. It also requires 90/10 ar/co2. for steel and argon for aluminum. As far as the miller 350p you can put a spoolgun or pushpull gun on the regular version for aluminum. Either way it gets real expensive real fast. Some of the reagular mig's have plug in's for a spoolgun |

A pulse machine makes a good welders life a little easier.
It does not make a person a welder, It's main benefit is in high volume.
large production runs, boat builders... |

Heck yeah why not!
Wouldn't a better option for non production be to get say a 180 Miller then get a spool gun for the occasional aluminum work?
I do not mess with aluminum and rarely do stainless work as most know stick is my preferred weapon so I was just wondering. _________________ Always remember slow and steady wins the race.

I already have a 180 machine. I like the capability of thicker steels and aluminum the 350 has. Then I could set up the 180 with stainless for odd jobs. I want to branch into aluminum and stainless sign work.
Thanks for the input,
