Hello all.
I have a question for you...
I know that there are a whole lot of variables in sales averages for Q trailer businesses, ie. weather, location, geography, traffic, quality, etc., etc.
My question is (and this is to convince my wife that this business is a good idea)...
What are some anticipated averages in sales per day? I know that 0$ (or in the red) is the lowest, but whate are some generalized daily sales averages that I COULD expect? |

How long is a piece of string?
In a perfect world, and selling everything that you cook and taking nothing home but your truck, the money and a load of dishes... how much did you cook?
You are asking a question to which there is no real answer, you can hypothesise all you like, then go out the first day and tank, because you cooked $1,000 of meat and only sold $100 worth.
Or you could buy $100 of meat and turn it into $250 of profit, there are too many variables.
But if you go out there fully legal, I have a friend doing between $700 and $1200 a day from a fully licenced food truck.
Take it that his food costs are at 30% he's making between $490 and $840, he's been in the food business for 20 years and has a following in a Metropolitan area of over 1,000,000 people. If you are in Podunk AK population 600, you may have difficulties doing those sorts of numbers.
Good luck when you get her agreement! _________________ Here's a change Robert.

Thx Ezzy,
Like I said... I know that there are SO MANY diff variables.
Just wanted to know what some of the other commercial smokers out there are experiencing for averages. I have been in food service for 18 yras (prior to oil field) and I know that getting an average is hard to do unless you are in opperation and have numbers to crunch.
Thanks for ANY info that will help the Mrs. |
