So, at my last BBQ comp, I tried finding a good BBQ app for the iPad/iPhone, and couldn't find anything decent...so I decided to develop my own.

If you guys could add any feature you wanted to it, what would it be?

Here are the current features:
*Recipe & Version Tracker
*Ingredients & Grocery List Organizer
*Equipment Profiles
*Recipe sharing and/or password protection in the recipe vault
*BBQ Article Feed
*BBQ Calculators - such as cook time
*BBQ Smoke Day Instructions - Let's you create your own schedule of events for turn in
*Help Section

Future Features I'd Like To Add:
*Automatic Backup to cloud server
*Competition finder
*Competition Layout & Map For Events
*Bluetooth Thermometer Monitoring
*Smoke Log - Takes & Graphs smoker/grill/meat temp at interval and graphs it and gives estimated completion time

There are a couple in the commercial sales section further down.

http://www.thesmokering.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=60569 the iGrill is one of them.

I use the Igrill app with the two probe thermometer. It works great. I especially like the range setting to track the temps.

At competitions I rely on my notebook and pencil. No need for Apps on my phone.

Hey there cassidy. Were the 2 probes something you had to use in addition to the iGrill software? I assume that is the case? I'd like to eventually add some bluetooth thermometers to my software.

Yes, go to amazon and buy the igrill thermometer. It has a base unit and two probes. That is what feeds the info to the phone. Works great. About 25 feet max distance.

iThis, iThat...Jeez...I felt like I was cheating going all Hi-Tech with a Maverick Laughing . Y'all can keep your iGadgets and stokers and blowers and pellets and whatever else ya think you 'need' to BBQ with. For a commercial setup I can see the need for some of this stuff, but for a backyard Q'er IMO it's overkill. Learn how to cook! Fire+Meat=Good. It's so easy a caveman can do it Laughing .

I'll step off the soapbox now Wink
